Playing tourist in Aiken

We did a few "touristy" things with my parents during our stay: visited a local plantation, boat ride on the Augusta canal, and to the zoo.

Aiken, SC

Our next stop was Aiken to visit my family. We got to meet our new niece and nephew that were just two months old. We also got to spend some time with the rest of my family.

Savannah, Georgia

Next stop: Savannah, GA. We had a great time. Went on two walking tours one on ghost stories - at night of course and the second on history of the area. We learned a lot and enjoyed wandering around on our own in this beautiful, southern city.
We also got to meet Jason's friend, Lance, for dinner one night - it had been years since we'd seen him.

2nd leg of our trip

After returning to Colorado for a few weeks to regroup and switch vehicles we set off for the 2nd leg of our trip.

First we stopped in Gulfport, Mississippi for a few days to visit Jason's brother. It's been 3 years since Katrina, but the destruction was still amazing. Here's a few snapshots in the neighborhood.
