I thought I'd give you guys some perspective on how far the drive to Alaska is. Take a look at this
mapquest link. Go all the way to the bottom to the map.The letters A-D are where we've stopped and E is Anchorage, Alaska. "A" is Vancouver, "B" is Whistler, "C" is Cache Creek. Those were all short drives, so it's ok that they don't look that far from each other. But, when you look at "C" to "D", Dawson Creek, and know that was a 10 hour drive, you see how incredibly far away Alaska really is. Most people think once you get to the Canadian border you're most of the way there....

Yowzah! That is one long ass drive...
I'm envious--and remember that when folks drove there to work on the Alaskan pipeline that the road was still pretty primitive.
Is that still the case? And what does a gallon of gasoline cost.
