Next up DC and brief visit with my friend Megan. We've been to DC several times, so we didn't do too much. We did go to the new(er) air and space museum. We just rented bikes and visited the monuments again. The highlight of our visit was a 3 hr segway tour - lots of fun and we learned quite a bit too.

Myrtle Beach, SC
After not visiting the beach for way too many years (for me 2001 was my last visit to the SC coast) we spent a little over a week in Myrtle Beach. We loved it and almost thought about staying through the winter! We had beachfront suite and I think only took the car out to go grocery shopping and play minigolf. It was a great relaxing time!

Savannah, Georgia
Next stop: Savannah, GA. We had a great time. Went on two walking tours one on ghost stories - at night of course and the second on history of the area. We learned a lot and enjoyed wandering around on our own in this beautiful, southern city.
We also got to meet Jason's friend, Lance, for dinner one night - it had been years since we'd seen him.

2nd leg of our trip
After returning to Colorado for a few weeks to regroup and switch vehicles we set off for the 2nd leg of our trip.
First we stopped in Gulfport, Mississippi for a few days to visit Jason's brother. It's been 3 years since Katrina, but the destruction was still amazing. Here's a few snapshots in the neighborhood.
