Meadville, PA - Columbus OH

Next stop: visiting my extended family in Pennsylvania. It was great to spend some time with them - again beautiful weather. We also stopped in Columbus, OH to visit one of my friends from the Peace Corps. We had a nice visit, but I didn't take a single picture! We were anxious to get home and I suppose after 5 months of taking pictures I was getting tired of it.

Traveling through NY

On our way back down from Vermont we stopped in Ithaca NY - no particular reason other than somewhere to stay. We did tour the Corning Glass Museum and explored Cornell a bit too. The leaves there were really beautiful.

Burlington , VT

We went up to Burlington VT to visit a friend of mine from high school. We really loved Burlington- mid October is perfect time to visit. The leaves were just past the peak, but still very pretty. My friend has a small hobby farm, so I enjoyed helping with the chores too.

New York City

We've been here a before and explored quite a bit on our own. This time we took a few bus tours of the city. We liked it because we didn't get so tired walking all over and learned some interesting things from our various tour guides. One new thing we did was go to the Statue of Liberty.

Washington, DC

Next up DC and brief visit with my friend Megan. We've been to DC several times, so we didn't do too much. We did go to the new(er) air and space museum. We just rented bikes and visited the monuments again. The highlight of our visit was a 3 hr segway tour - lots of fun and we learned quite a bit too.

Charlottesville, VA

Eventually, we reluctantly left the beach and headed to Charlottesville. We toured Monticello, wandered around the university, and explored the city.

Myrtle Beach, SC

After not visiting the beach for way too many years (for me 2001 was my last visit to the SC coast) we spent a little over a week in Myrtle Beach. We loved it and almost thought about staying through the winter! We had beachfront suite and I think only took the car out to go grocery shopping and play minigolf. It was a great relaxing time!
